Water-soluble stabilizer is removed with water according to its instructions. It is different from tear-away backing and fusible adhesive web. Verify the removal method before using it on an item that cannot be washed.
Choose the structure for the job
Sulky’s stabilizer guide distinguishes film, fabric-like and other wash-away forms. Solvy film and Fabri-Solvy are identifiable products to compare, but their construction and intended role are not identical.

A lightweight topper can help stitches sit on a textured surface. It is not automatically enough to support freestanding embroidery. Use the design’s backing and layer instructions rather than assuming any clear film will hold the stitches together.
What not to substitute
Sulky Tear-Easy is a tear-away, not a water-soluble product. A fusible web such as Wonder-Under bonds layers; it is not a wash-away embroidery backing. Temporary spray adhesive helps positioning but does not supply the structural support of a stabilizer.
Before ordering
Check usable roll width against the hoop, stated layer instructions, storage requirements and water-removal process. Make a small sample and follow the maker’s rinse instructions completely. Do not assume a fabric-like stabilizer will disappear with the same quick wipe used to remove a little film topper.
