Mould depth does not tell you a resin’s permitted pour depth. Coating epoxy, deep-pour epoxy and UV resin have different instructions. Use the exact technical sheet before mixing.
For a rectangular empty cavity, volume in millilitres is length × width × depth in centimetres. A 10 × 8 × 0.3 cm cavity holds 24 mL before allowing for inclusions or losses. That calculation estimates volume only; it does not approve the depth or batch size.
ArtResin’s depth guidance discusses its own coating product and layering. Do not transfer its directions to another resin. Exothermic heating depends on formulation, quantity and container geometry as well as room temperature.
Record the product, maximum layer depth, batch limit, weight-or-volume mixing basis and permitted recoating interval. If any is missing, obtain the manufacturer’s instructions before pouring. Do not compensate for the wrong ratio by adding extra hardener.
Follow the safety data sheet for ventilation, gloves and eye protection. Keep uncured material away from skin, food surfaces, children and pets. See cure-time planning before deciding when a piece is ready.
